Welcome to a new festival for 2013, a celebration that sets out to give young people in Norfolk the opportunity to perform in a range of artistic and cultural activities at a moment towards the end of the academic year when exams are over and – we hope! – the sun is shining.
Our goal is that it will be the first of many future festivals to showcase work produced for and by young people in Norfolk.
All listed events are open to the public, and there are truly exciting ventures in dance, drama, art, design, music and creative writing, so we’re confident that there will be something for everyone!
The events for the first Young Norfolk Arts Festival have been developed by the following creative partners: EPIC Studios, The Garage, Norfolk County Music Service, Norwich Cathedral, Norwich Puppet Theatre, Norwich School, Norwich Sound & Vision, the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, Sistema in Norwich and Writers’ Centre Norwich. We hope that this exciting blend of organisations will grow in future years.
The festival is supported by the Norfolk & Norwich Festival Bridge, which is funded by Arts Council England to connect children and young people with art and culture.
For further details of the programme, booking and ticket sales, and for information about other events in the festival, please visit www.youngnorfolkartsfestival.org.uk.
The Young Norfolk Arts Festival is off to an exciting start, and we hope you’ll join us at as many events as you can. You’ll be amazed at what you discover.
